With only one day until the draft, it’s hard to know what actually is going to happen. This is the time when teams send out more smokescreens than a magician. No reports should be trusted. Half the reports that come out about the Oakland Raiders are especially unlikely to be true.

The Raiders could well trade down on draft day. It is unlikely that they draft Bortles or Manziel . Given their depth at receiver, Sammy Watkins would be foolish. And given the nature of some of the other holes on the team, drafting offensive tackles Greg Robinson or Jake Matthews would probably cost McKenzie his job. Clowney is likely to be gone by the fifth pick, especially if Atlanta trades up for him.
Heres how the Raider’s weekend could pan out for the benefit of the team.
5th pick: Khalil Mack/Edge Rusher/Buffalo: Same as the last mock draft, Mack is the clear favorite for the Raiders at 5. He is a ferocious, versatile defender who could amplify the team to another level. He should be the pick, and if he is passed, then Reggie is not long for the Bay Area.
36th pick: Dominique Easley/DT/Florida: Still sticking with the original mock. Easley should slip into the second round just based on his knee. But the Raiders getting him there would be a steal, especially given their depth at defensive tackle. His lightning quick first step combined with Mack would make Oakland’s defense deadly.
Boston College RB Andre Williams
67: Andre Williams/RB/Boston College: While the Raiders are fairly stocked up on running backs, one is a injury-riddled bust, another is aging past his prime, and the others are unproven young backs. Andre Williams is everything they want. In terms of strict running ability, no one does it better. Williams is a mammoth tank that was a Heisman finalist and can carry an NFL workload. Still needs work in the pass game, but they have Marcel Reece for that.
Wisconsin WR Jared Abbrederis
107: Jared Abbrederis/WR/Wisconsin: Gone is the Al Davis method of drafting wide receivers, where the only qualification is a fast 40. Abbrederis is quick, but not lightning fast, but possibly the best wide receiver in the middle rounds. Abbrederis is an exceptional route runner who burned Bradley Roby pretty badly. Line him up anywhere on the field, and he will catch whatever is thrown at him.
219: Loucheiz Purifoy/CB/Florida: A long, speedy defender, Purifoy has a knack for being near the ball, Unfortunately, hes a bit of a bonehead off the field, and is not as big or strong as you’d like an NFL cornerback to be. However, he can probably become a premier special teams player as a rookie and learn the ropes along the way.
235: Ryan Groy/OG/Wisconsin: With a cluster at left guard, why not bring in another candidate. Groy hails from the school that puts out some of the best offensive linemen, and he should be no different. He’s a punishing blocker who has the smarts to deal with any rushers coming at him. A good pickup, though he could even go undrafted and the Raiders could steal him there.

Miami QB Stephen Morris
247: Stephen Morris/QB/Miami: With Matt Schaub, quarterback isn’t a high priority. They can afford to take someone like Morris and groom him for a few years. Morris has a big arm. He also is smart before the snap, recognizing defenses and able to find matchups to exploit. With proper coaching, he can eliminate his inconsistencies and rise to be a great NFL QB.
